General terms of use

Please read these terms and conditions carefully. These are the terms that will govern any contract between you and us for the sale of the products displayed on this web site. We reserve the right to amend these terms when necessary.

Please note that it is your responsibility to check that your order is correct, and to accurately supply all relevant information necessary to complete the order as requested.

We are under no obligation to accept your order, but will normally do so where the items are available, the order reflects current pricing and your credit card payment is approved by your credit card company. Your order represents an offer of contract from you only and is not binding until we have sent you an e-mail confirming receipt and acceptance of your order.

We are entitled to withdraw from any order in the case of obvious errors or inaccuracies regarding the products or the order appearing on our web site.

Placing an order is notification of your acceptance of these terms and conditions. In the rare circumstance that a product price has increased between the time of the order and our acceptance of it (or, again rarely, if a delivery charge needed to be applied or amended), we will e-mail you to advise of the change. Your card will never be charged with an amount additional to your original order without your prior written consent. You will, of course, have the right to cancel your order and receive a full refund.

Any contract between us will be governed by Illinois State Law and will be subject to the jurisdiction of the US Courts. All of the copyright in the material, documents, site design, graphics, systems, codes and connections contained on this web site or linked to it and the selection and arrangement thereof are owned by Really Useful Boxes Inc, the web site designers or the publishers of those sites to which this web site links. All rights are reserved. You are entitled to electronically copy and to print in hard copy sections of this web site for the sole purpose of placing an order with Really Useful Boxes Inc. Any other use of material on the web site, including photocopying, modifying and/or distributing any pages printed off this web site for purposes other than those noted above, without our prior written consent, is strictly prohibited.

We will attempt to ensure that the information available on our web site at any one time is accurate, but cannot guarantee that it will be fault-free. Our web site is provided on a "as is" and "as available" basis. We are not liable to you if we cannot supply a particular item. If you would like us to deliver substitute lines should selected products be unavailable, then you can request this when placing your order.

We do not make any warranties that the web site is secure or is free from infection by viruses or anything else that has contaminated or disruptive properties. We do not accept liability for any errors and omissions and reserve the right to change information, prices and descriptions of listed goods at any time. From time to time certain products may vary in style and material to that shown on the web site. We would do our best to correct errors and omissions as quickly as practicable after being notified of them.

We do not accept any liability for any losses or claims arising from any liability to access our web site or any failure to complete a transaction. Our total liability in contract, tort (including negligence or breach of statutory duty), misrepresentation or otherwise, arising in connection with the supply of products or contemplated supply shall be limited to the total price of the products purchased in respect of any claims.

We will not be liable for any indirect or consequential loss (whether for loss of profits, loss of business, depletion of goodwill or otherwise) or damage of any kind in contract, tort or otherwise arising out of the use of the web site or use of the products or services.

You acknowledge that it is not usually possible to detect from inspection of an internet transmission whether the original of it had been forged, wrongfully altered or otherwise misused or where the transmission details such as name of sender, sender's e-mail address, or date and time of transmission imprinted on it automatically are genuine, and you therefore agree to indemnify us against any actions, proceedings, damages, costs, claims, demands or losses whatsoever arising from your so acting, obeying or otherwise dealing in accordance with any such Internet transmission appearing to have been so furnished by you or on your behalf in the event that the said Internet transmission has been produced by forgery, wrongful alteration or other misuse of the original transmission or that said transmission details appear on it are not genuine.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence or fraudulent misrepresentation.

These terms and conditions do not affect your statutory rights.

Product specifications

For external box dimensions we use the maximum size of the box with the lid and handles in place. For internal box dimensions, we take the minimum dimensions.

All dimensions, weights, and color representations are approximate.

Methods of payment

When purchasing through our Online Shop, you may use credit/debit cards (Visa, Visa Electron, ELV, Mastercard, Maestro) or PayPal^*. We do not accept cheques. If you would like to use another payment method (e.g. business account) please contact us to make the necessary arrangements.

^*Please note that if paying via PayPal you may not use eCheques.

Shipping prices & policies

We only ship within the continental United States.
We do not currently ship to Alaska or Hawaii.
We cannot ship to APO or FPO Boxes.
We cannot ship to US Territories.
All appropriate sales taxes will be added to your shipping charges where applicable.

Shipping charges (excluding any applicable taxes) are calculated as follows:

For order values up to $10, shipping is $24.00
For orders from $10.01 - $100.00, shipping is $26
For orders from $100.01 - $200.00, shipping is $40
For orders from $200.01 - $300.00, shipping is $59
For orders from $300.01 - $400.00, shipping is $78
For orders from $400.01 - $500.00, shipping is $97
For orders from $500.01 - $600.00, shipping is $117
For orders from $600.01 - $800.00, shipping is $156
For orders from $800.01 - $1,000.00, shipping is $195
For orders from $1,000.01 - $1,250.00, shipping is $244
For orders from $1,250.01 - $1,500.00, shipping is $292
For orders from $1,500.01 - $1,750.00, shipping is $340
For orders from $1,750.01 - $2,000.00, shipping is $389
For orders from $2,000.01 - $2,500.00, shipping is $486
For orders from $2,500.01 - $3,000.00, shipping is $583
For orders from $3,000.01 - $5,000.00, shipping is $620
For orders from $5,000.01 onwards, shipping is $700

We now aim to deliver stock items within 7 working days, but cannot guarantee this. We shall not be responsible for failures or delays in delivery due to circumstances beyond our control, including but not limited to Acts of God, fires, strikes, and failure of suppliers or distribution partners. In the event of such delay our obligations under the contract will be suspended for the period of the delay.

We regret that we are unable to arrange next day deliveries.

All deliveries require a signature upon arrival.

Deliveries will not arrive at weekends.

You are responsible for the products once they have been delivered. You will be the owner of the products once we have received payment in full for the products. If an attempted delivery fails (such as the wrong address was specified on the order form) then we will notify you and offer to re-deliver the products subject to a shipping charge. If you then wish to cancel the order, we will refund the full amount minus the delivery charge (charged at cost). If we do not hear from you within 30 working days we will cancel the order and refund your payment by way of a credit to your credit/debit card, minus the shipping charge. Our liability for non-delivery of the products shall be limited to replacing the product within reasonable time.

Amending or cancelling an order

Unfortunately we are unable to accept any amendments to orders once they have been placed.

Cancelling an order before it is shipped
If you decide you need to cancel your order before it has been shipped, please contact us as soon as possible.

There is no charge or penalty for cancelling your order prior to despatch.
Cancelling an order after it is shipped
If you decide you need to cancel your order after it has been shipped, you must contact us within 7 working days following the delivery of the order.

Please note that an order must be cancelled in full.

We will make any necessary credit card refunds only after you have returned the items to us in original condition. We cannot be held responsible for items lost or damaged during their return to us, so you may want to consider sending them via an insured service.

Whilst there is no administrative charge or penalty for cancelling your order after despatch, please note that we will not cover the cost of returning items to us unless they were defective or you received the wrong items (see Returns & refunds).

Returns & refunds

You may return items to us for any of the following reasons:

You change your mind about any purchase;
Any item was defective and/or not as described;
You received the wrong item(s).

Please contact us as soon as possible if you need to return any items for any reason.

We will make any necessary credit card refunds only after you have returned the appropriate items to us in original condition. We cannot be held responsible for items lost or damaged during their return to us, so you may want to consider sending them via an insured service.

Whilst there is no administrative charge or penalty for returning items to us, please note that we will not cover the cost of returning the items unless they were defective or you received the wrong items.

Your credit card transaction will be handled by Authorize.Net, a well respected payment processing company with thousands of clients. Authorize.Net provides all the security required for the transmission using SSL (Secure Socket Layer), encryption, and firewalls.

Unfortunately, however, no data transmission over the Internet can be guaranteed 100% secure. As a result, while we strive to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee the security of any information you transmit to or from our website, and you do so at your own risk. Accordingly, we disclaim liability for any theft, loss, or interception of, or any unauthorized access or damage to any data or communications. By using this website, you acknowledge that you understand and agree to assume these risks.

Really Useful Boxes Inc's website is not directed to children under the age of 13 years. We will never request personally identifiable information from anyone whom we know to be under the age of 13 without verifiable parental consent. By using the Site, you represent and warrant that you are at least 13 years old.
